Excellent quality and price!,
17 April 2005
Wow! I've tried a couple of different bluetooth headsets that were all horrible and expensive, but this one is truly superior ...and cheap too. I've paired it with my new Motorola razr v3 and I'm in heaven! Call quality is crystal clear, design is comfortable on ear although sometimes it feels like will fall off ear, volume and talk buttons are easy to find with fingers. The fit on ear takes some time to become acclimated. When you move your head too quickly feels like will fall off. Although it's not happened to me. Reception and range are excellent. I got mine on ebay for $42 brand new. Beware some unscrupulous ebay sellers are trying to pass off another lower grade Bluetrek model for the G2. The other one does not have hands-free option. Make sure you are getting the G2 and get one quick!

My first Bluetooth headset.,
22 March 2005
I have never used a bluetooth headset before, but this one seem very good. It's light and has a long battery life.
I do agree with the other reviewer who said it doesn't sit in the ear well. But even when it's a little loose resting on my ear, I can hear the other person quite well.
I tested the sound on the other end with my land line and I believe it could be better; it's not bad, just not as clear as I belive it could be.

G2 review,
30 December 2004
Overall the product is good. I do think it was well worth the money. It was a snap to program and use. It sounds pretty good and does all the stuff I need like answer calls, hang up, and voice dial... there is no need to touch the phone. Battery life is very good too. The reason I am giving it a 4 is because it did take some time to get used to the way it sits in my ear. My younger brother went out and bought this thing too, and it just doesn't want to stay in his ear.

This item has lived up to its expectations. It is indeed very light, crystal clear and at a bargain price to give you everything you need using the bluetooth technology of today. A must for all those requiring a handsfree function on and off the road.

Have to disagree with the negative reviews on fit....the band that goes around your ear is malleable so just bend it until you get a snug fit! Very good headset in all technical aspects and only needs charging infrequently.

Take care with compatibility,
01 November 2004
I bought the unit based on specs to use with my Nokia 6820 (applies to Nokia 6230 as well). I ran into an annoying compatibility problem which I will describe. But first, in terms of comfort & performance:
- It is indeed quite light on the ear. It sways around a bit when moving one's head but seems to come back into place just fine.
- Earpiece sound quality is quite good.
- When on the other end of a call the voice is somewhat muffled but I have not had any complaints about inaudibility. Seems to work pretty good in noisy environments too.
- Battery life is excellent.
- I have not tried to determine how far away the earpiece can be from the phone. I have used it to a distance of about 6 feet with no problem but I do not know the maximum range. This is phone dependent too.
Regarding compatibility, when the G2 is turned on and I am using other features of the phone like the Internet, appointment calendar etc. the phone about every 5 seconds interrupts my work to report the volume setting. I have to turn the G2 off to prevent this. I wrote the manufacturer Dcomm who said...
"We did recognize this problem. It happens on Nokia 6230 and 6820 phones. It is the phone problem and Nokia has to correct this bug on their side. It is because this will not happen on other Bluetooth enabled phones when used with our G2 headset."
Nokia, when shown this comment, of course said the opposite. Now I like the unit overall well enough to keep it, at least for a while. But I do recommend that you verify compatibility by checking with your phone supplier, not just Dcomm. After all, the Dcomm website www.bluetrek.com claims compatibility with my phone model.

Electrical Engineer... way impressed,
08 October 2004
I bought this on specs alone, and I've had it (charged) about 20 minutes.
If you think you don't need one you're wrong. After 30 seconds of talking with this I was impressed. It's the lightest unit and claims the longest talk and standby times. It's clear to about 35 feet (line of sight) so that's a correct claim. After 2 minutes of wear I couldn't tell which ear it was on (it fits good and it's the lightest) and so far, one person has said the conversation was more clear than the phone or the wired headset (I agree). it also looks good and it's cheap. I'll report back on the battery life but all the other claims are as advertised. Even the users manual was clear and got the unit up in about 30 seconds. I'm using this with a Blackberry 7100T from T-mobile.

There is a serious fault in te design of this headset. It is difficult to fit in the ear. I agree the electronics are brilliant but designwise it is rubish. I think manufacturers has to be warned and they should stop producing this device until they come with a shape that is easier to fit in the ear.
