Fit of pique with geek chic,
25 November 2004
Like all products these days it is hard not to be disappointed when reality meets marketing...nevertheless: Pros: -Discrete, lightweight, even stylish (although you do tend to look like a chauffeur if you venture outside with it on) -Very easy to set up: paired automatically with SonyEricsson T630, was up and talking within 5 minutes -Quite comfortable compared with 1-piece Nokia headsets used in the past -Sound quality is acceptable, but no more Cons: -Effective talk time is 2 hours between charges -Effective range is 3m, even with phone in clear line of sight Overall, probably the best of a bad bunch of power-hungry bluetooth widgets.

No wonder the price has been reduced,
02 November 2004
This was my first and nearly my last Bluetooth device. After reading the reviews I thought this would be the best solution and matched to my SE Z600 believed I would be buying best quality. Regretably, even after returning it to Sony to ensure that it was working OK I have binned it for something cheaper. Rx sound quality is good, and battery life is good (hence the two stars), Tx quality is dreadful in anything other that a Roller, you need an ear the size of an elephants to wear it for more than two hours and its keeps loosing its Bluetooth connection.

Not good...,
30 October 2004
If this were comfortable, sturdy, and had a battery life enabling more than two or three hurried conversations between charges, it would be ideal. Sadly, none of those things apply. If you're looking for a bluetooth handsfree set, keep on looking.

Best Bluetooth Hands Free,
13 October 2004
Really easy to use and comfortable to wear. The best thing about this item is that it is easy to use, connects easily to your phone, and the major point - that people can hear you and you can hear them, even when driving! Would recomend this to anyone

Sony Ericsson HBH 65 Bluetooth Headset,
01 October 2004
An attractive and lightweight piece of kit which is very comfortable. I have had no problems pairing it with either a T610 or a T630 handset. Sound quality is excellent. BUT, you knew there was a but didn't you? The battery life is very limited at about 2ish hours of talk time (less than the manufacturer claims) when new. Perhaps more importantly, it declines rapidly after a few weeks of use to the point where my device now only allows about 40 minutes of talktime which is frankly totally inadequate. I can say with reasonable authority that I did not buy a rogue unit as I actually purchased three at once for myself and two colleagues and they have all gone the same way. So, for occasional use I would say it is a very good unit, but for moderate intensity business use buy almost anything else. Sorry, but that's the truth folks.

SONY ERICSSON HBH-65 REVIEW,
22 September 2004
Initially impressed, easy to set up sound quality great and very discreet. Now the moan, battery life i found absoloutly pathetic. I had a twenty minute conversation and two hours later dead as a dodo. Sometimes during the day i was having to charge it 3 times, so if you want one for long car journeys dont bother with this. It`s a shame because otherwise its suberb. I have now tried a Jabra 250 and its much better, in fact as soon as i finish writing this i am buying one.

Poor battery performance for HBH-65,
19 September 2004
The HBH-65 is pretty good unit, except in one vital area - battery performance. Much cheaper units offer considerably better battery life both for stand-by and talk-time. I expected more from Sony, especially when the manual claims around 70hrs stand-by and 2.5hrs talk-time. In practice it achieves nowhere near this. In other respects it performs reasonably well, although with my Nokia 6310i it often loses the connection inexplicably during keyboard operation. Disappointing!

HBH-65 Hassle free with T610,
06 July 2004
Before I purchased my HBH-65 I read all the customer reviews on Amazon. Although the majority of postings were favourable, there were a few negative comments. I would like to add my comments to the other favourable reviews. Connecting the headset to my T610 was a doddle and the performance of the HBH-65 has been exemplorary. I have ecountered no reception problems in the car, on the street or in the office. Transmission and reception are crystal clear with no echo or time lag. Highly recommended.

HBH-65 Bluetooth Headset,
04 July 2004
Very comfortable - wore it for 5 hours with no problem. Small and attractive.Seems OK in car and out, and very clear at both ends of the line.Using it with new T68i bought on offer recently. I found the instruction book a little unclear on the subject of Pairing: During Pairing you are required to depress the button on the headset for several seconds which produces two warning sounds separated by a silence. However, once Paired, you depress the headset button only ONCE (i.e. for everyday usage). The headset then automatically finds your phone. (If you keep the button pressed down too long, and produce TWO warning sounds, as you did for the initial Pairing, then the headset does not work. Not understanding the difference led me to think the headset was not working faulty.

Lovely design and clear sound but not reliable,
01 June 2004
I use this headset with a T610. The unit is small, light, looks good and the sound is clear, battery life is short but useable and it charges quickly. However the Bluetooth connection between the headset and the phone is very unreliable. I don't seem to have too much problem when making a call, it fails perhaps 10% of the time but answering a call or transferring from phone to headset the bluetooth connection is lost probably more than 50% of the time, esspecially in the car, which renders the device almost unseable and is very frustrating. I am not the only person I know with this combination of phone and headset who has had this problem. If you're going to purchase this headset, pair it with your phone and give it some trial runs before you buy.
